Take Small Steps to Achieve Big Goals

Posted in

One step at a timeI’ve said it before, in several places, if if the whole task or goal seems too big to tackle, then break it down into smaller, more manageable pieces. The flip side of that principle is, when you have trouble getting started on the small steps, look to the big goal.

The big goals are what drive, motivate you, and compel you to go forward. The smaller goals are the steps that will take you there.

When you can visualize the end result, you’re much more likely to push yourself to take the next step, no matter what. String those individual steps together and they add up to the big achievement you desire.

Any goal, any task can be broken down into steps small enough to seem trivial. However, string them together and the results are anything but trivial.

Keep putting one foot in front of another taking one step at a time and you can walk as far as you want. Keep focused on the goal, while persistently working through the small, day-to-day steps and anything is within your reach.

It seems to me to sum up this way: Don’t allow the seemingly far-off, near unattainable goal prevent you from beginning the journey. It can be the most difficult part of the trip to decide that you actually would like to do something! I’ve enjoyed your articles, especially the time-management tips.
