On-line mind-mapping tool Mindomo updated
Yesterday, Mindomo announced several improvements to their web-based mind mapping tool. A new map styling feature has been added, with over 20 pre-defined styles. Map styles contain a list of properties for map topics, such as font, alignment, shape, background fill colour and more. You can’t edit the pre-defined map styles or define your own, but you can select one style as the default for your account.
As well, additional exporting options have been added. During exporting to PDF, RTF and TXT the following options can be specified:
- Generate table of contents
- Numbering scheme
- Depth for numbering
- Option to include links
New map styling feature
- A “map style” is a list of predefined properties for the topics.
- It defines the properties for: the centre topic, the main topics, the subtopics(topics on level 2 or above), and the properties of the map.
- For every different kind of topic (centre, main, subtopic) the following attributes are kept in a style:
- Background fill, Shape, Font (name, size, bold, italic, underline, colour), Alignment and Line format (except the colour)
- Additionally the following map attributes will be saved:
- Centre line colour, Background fill and Map size.
- There are 20 predefined styles
- You may style your maps by applying one of these styles to your map.
- NOTE: Styles will work only with new maps!
- Applying styles for old maps (created before 15.05.2007) will not work!
Creating and setting the default map style for your account
- Currently you can’t edit the map styles, but you can set a default style for your account

5. Set the background colour of your map
6. Go to the “Map” tab and click on the “Set as default” button.
