As I was driving into work today, it occurred to me that February 29 is an extra day, which could be put to better use. Here I was, getting ready to do exactly what I would be doing if today was March 1.

Today should be a national holiday. Once every four years you get to do something different with the extra 24 hours.

Gina Kim—at the Sacramento Bee—has a brilliant idea: take the extra time to get organized.

If you’re like 63 percent of Americans, you’d use an extra day to get organized at work, around the house or in the garage, according to a Yahoo! study.
