Windows' Key Shortcuts

Take a look at your keyboard. There's a key with the Windows Logo on it, usually between the Ctrl and Alt keys. This key, in combination with other keys, can save you lots of extra keystrokes if you know its secrets . . . so here they are:

** NOTE ** The letter K in each of the shortcuts below represents the Windows Logo Key. Press this key in combination with the other key listed to access that shortcut.

K - Open the Start Menu
K + TAB - Cycle through open program windows
K + E - Launch Windows Explorer
K + F - Launch Find Files or Folders
K + R - Display the run dialogue box
K + D - Minimize or restore all open programs
Shift + K + M - Undo Minimize on all windows
K + F1 - Display help for Windows
CTRL + K + F - Find a computer on your company’s network
K + Break - Opens the System Properties dialogue box where you can get info on your system and view the hardware installed
