The Religion of Superheroes?

This story really belongs to Kathy, but as she doesn't get back until the end of the week you'll have to make do with me. I'm pretty sure she'd accompany the post with a pithy quip from one of her bulging files.

"Back in the dawn of the modern comic book, more than 90 percent of Americans self-identified with a particular religion, mostly some kind of Christianity. Why wouldn't reality-linked superheroes have a particular religion?"

Galatians 3:28
VERSE: There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

THOUGHT: We seem to spend a lot of time measuring people by human standards: by race or socio-economic standing or gender. In his letter to the Galations Paul reminds us that we are all one in Christ. In God's love we are all the same. Culture and our human selfishness always find ways to divide us. We must remember that in Jesus we can be one.
