Jesse Tree

An older custom from Europe of hanging ornaments on a tree during Advent. The ornaments were symbolic representations of prophecies of the coming of the Messiah. The name comes from the prophecy in Isaiah chapter 11, ”A shoot will spring forth from the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots.”
