IPods take flight

Airline passengers who use iPods will soon have the option of charging their batteries while in flight and watching videos stored on their devices on their seat-back displays.

Passenger who use laptop computers or other portable electronic devices to watch movies are limited by battery life.

Six carriers — Air France, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, KLM and UAL Corp.’s United Airlines — will begin the service staring in mid-2007, iPod maker Apple Computer Inc. said Tuesday.
