Set up and host a blog on your home computer

I have often thought of setting up a Wordpress installation on my home computer. Not so much to serve it from there, but to be able to test changes to my blog, without damaging the web copy.

According to these instruction at Lifehacker —Hack Attack: Set up and host a blog on your home computer - Lifehacker— the process seems straightforward.

If you want to host your own blog, you can purchase a plan at a web hosting provider for a few bucks a month - or you can set it up on your home computer for free.

I’ll have to give it a try when I have a few spare minutes.
