CharityVillage - Canada’s Non-Profit Supersite

CharityVillage recognizes and showcases the richness and diversity of Canada’s nonprofit sector.
Our purpose is to encourage, support and service the approximately 80,000 Canadian charities, the nation’s 70,000 other nonprofit organizations, and the millions of professionals, staffers, volunteers, donors, and supporters who make this sector such an important part of our national fabric.
CharityVillage is comprised of more than 3,000 web pages. It is one of the largest and busiest web sites in the world devoted exclusively to nonprofit issues.
CharityVillage officially launched on July 13, 1995.
Visitors come from 53 countries around the world. Most, of course, are Canadian, followed by those from the United States and the United Kingdom.
The core audience who visits CharityVillage regularly now exceeds 200,000 unique visitors monthly.
CharityVillage has its own online magazine CharityVillage NewsWeek carrying the latest news and information for and about the people and organizations that comprise Canadian nonprofit sector.
The Research Section of The Library contains more than 600 research articles in 55 subject areas ranging from Accountability to Women in Philanthropy.
In the Nonprofit Neighbourhood, you can link to more than 2,000 Canadian nonprofit organizations’ web sites.
The Volunteer Bulletin Board provides more than 500 volunteer opportunities in cities across the country.
The Coming Events section has a calendar of fundraising events and a complete listing of professional development seminars and conferences.
The Online Resources section links visitors to more than 200 specialized directories and resource sites for nonprofit organizations, more than 150 specialized online publications, dozens of government information sites, and sources of economic, financial and investment information..
In the Online Discussions section visitors can link or subscribe to any of more than 120 listservers, newsgroups, chatrooms and web-based discussion forums.
The Library contains over 150 listings of nonprofit reference materials, periodicals, and resource publications, many of them free of charge, and dozens of book reviews on nonprofit topics.
The Book Store contains more than 1,300 titles of interest to those who manage, contribute to, and volunteer for nonprofit organizations. It’s the easiest way to find and purchase the books you need.
The Webmasters Club provides links to dozens of web site development and marketing resources.
More than 44,000 openings in the Canadian nonprofit sector have been advertised in the Careers Centre at CharityVillage.
The Marketplace at CharityVillage lists hundreds of product and service providers in dozens of categories — all of them focused on the nonprofit sector.
Our HelpLink section is a place where charities can post requests for items or services they need. People interested in in donating items can also post notices here.
Anyone can subscribe, free of charge, to our weekly e-mail newsflash, Village Vibes , alerting villagers to new additions and items of special interest.
