Time Management Tip

Write things down

Unless you have very little to do or the tasks you have are highly repetitive, you cannot depend on your brain to recall everything that needs doing. The things that are most immediate are going to push away things in the background —often the most important. By writing things down you free up you brain to analyse the information and make productive decisions.

Classic quote (Einstein attributed): “My pencil is smarter than I am.”

There’s also a story about his being asked for his office phone number,
and looking it up in the directory. When asked whether he knew his
own # or not, he said (paraphrasing) “Why waste brain cells on
something that’s already remembered somewhere else?”

I have also read that Einstein’s wife prepared detailed list of routine items that needed doing while he was travelling. Otherwise, he was prone to forget.
