We Meet Joe
This past Friday evening Glenda and I attended a L’Arche community fund-raising dinner. As we had learned of the event from a post at felix hominum, it was no surprise to run into Joe, along with Mrs. Hominum and some junior hominii. It was an enjoyable evening, but perhaps most of all, it served to convince our wives that the bloggers we meet online are not imaginary. 
If you judge parents by their children, the Walkers are great. The kids were personable company. The three oldest did not make shy with a couple of strangers who joined them at the dinner table and the youngest, six-months old, seemed relaxed and content through all the bustle of the event.
The dinner raised money to support L’Arche communities in Mexico and Brazil. I was impressed that this group of people —who many would consider to be in great need themselves— working to help those with even greater needs.
A thoroughly enjoyable evening.
