If you find it difficult keeping the resolutions you make at the start of the year, perhaps you’re taking the wrong approach. I think you will find the following 10 resolutions virtually impossible to break.

This year, I resolve to…

  1. Gain weight. At least 30 pounds.
  2. Stop exercising.
  3. Read less.
  4. Watch more TV.
  5. Procrastinate more.
  6. Stop bringing lunch from home and eat out more.
  7. Get further in debt.
  8. Break at least one traffic law.
  9. Spread out priorities beyond my ability to keep track of them.
  10. Focus on the faults of others.

Personally, I’m planning to do more complaining and whining. Wish me luck!

Another resolution that is easy to keep. :)

Well, that’s certainly a new way of looking at these resolutions. But I think I’ll stick to the old ways. I don’t think reverse resolutions suit me very well. Still, it’s a pretty innovative idea. I might suggest it to a couple of friends. In the spirit of this post, however, I think I’ll make one resolution in reverse. How about, I plan to have french fries every day for the year 2008?

I plan to attend more non-productive meetings and use it as an excuse of not completing my tasks

Thanks Ian, it’s like you read my mind. Happy New Year!

My goal to procrastinate more consistently is right on track! I’m posting about New Years on January 18th.
