VERSE:
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love. —Ephesians 4:1,2

THOUGHT:
The concept of humility seems completely at odds with the me-first mentality advocated by our culture. As believers we are called to be completely humble and gentle. Patience and bearing in love become hallmarks of our lives. As John the Baptist said, ‘He must become greater; I must become less.’
