Today is Labour Day in North America; a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. For most people, it’s the last break of the summer, before school starts and things get back into gear.

When you get a chance to take a break, are you taking advantage of the chance to refresh, relax and re-charge?

We are doing two things today: doing some work with our 4 kids on on backyard playhouse, and then I’m settling in to read the Iliad (which I’ve read before but find just a great story for a day off).

And I might surf some blogs :^)

I’ve never read the Iliad and wouldn’t have thought of it as a great story for a day off. My knowledge of Homer tends to end with the Simpsons. ;) I seem to recall downloading Samuel Butler’s translation, from Project Gutenberg. I’ll have to dig up the file and read it.

I work two jobs. One for a worldwide advertising agency and I’m the owner of the other side business.

So on my days off, I usually work for the side business.
