Blogging Tip - Use a Schedule
Most periodicals use an editorial calendar to schedule content to be publsihed over a period of time. While the actual articles are not necessarily known, the theme and sections of a particular issue are planned; sometimes months in advance. Likewise, you will see that my content here is posted on a weekly cycle. Given the eclectic nature of Ian’s Messy Desk, it is helpful to have fixed themes for each day. Each day I know what content I have to post and anything else that comes along is a bonus.
You can make the cycle weekly, monthly or whatever works for your blogging style. You can set the schedule by theme using catergories, by style of post (top 10 list, interview, essay, etc.) or again, whatever works best with your blog’s content.
If you find it difficult to keep your blogging organized or you run into
writer’s block from time to time, create a publishing schedule.
