Checking out Transcend Coffee

On the strength of Joe’s recommendation, I popped by Transcend coffee this afternoon. I had a great latte and a nice chat with proprietors Poul and Michelle. Poul blogs at dead apostle where you can read about some of the things involved in getting a new business off the ground.
Transcend is not only selling beverages and baked goods, they are roasting coffee and selling beans –roasted and green. I’m a home-roaster and another source of green coffee beans is welcomed.
If you’re an Edmontonian (or visiting Edmonton), stop by 9869 62 Avenue (map) and give a worthwhile new venture a boost. The hours of operation a currently limited to Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Poul says the plan is to expand the hours after Labour Day. I have visited Transcend and am pleased to see the total focus on coffee quality in both roasting and preperation (great customer service as well). Edmonton needs more shops like Transcend !
