Psalm 10:12

VERSE:
Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless. —Psalm 10:12

THOUGHT:
It only takes a quick look through a newspaper or an hour of television news to realize that we live in a broken world. Unfortunately, this doesn’t merely mean broken organizations or groups or government. Institutions are only a reflection of people. A broken world means broken people.

When we are in pain and anguish or those around us hurt and are helpless, we can look to God. God has given strength and comfort and care in the past, but it may seem at times as if God isn’t here. We can give in to our doubts and confusion or we can call to the Lord, “lift up your hands, do not forget the helpless.”
