Read your Google Reader feeds off-line

More Information

is an open source browser extension that enables web applications to provide off-line functionality using following JavaScript APIs:

  • Store and serve application resources locally
  • Store data locally in a fully-searchable relational database
  • Run asynchronous Javascript to improve application responsiveness

I’m not much of a tech-head, so I really don’t know what all that means. As near as I can tell, will download your subscriptions to your computer and then you can disconnect from the Internet and read them at your leisure. I guess that means, just before heading to the airport, you run Google Gears and then you can catch up on your feed reading while in the air.

I wonder how low it will take before this works with Gmail or Docs and Spreadsheets?

Google Gears (BETA).
