10 Resources to Help Overcome Procrastination

There’s an urge to start with a comment about putting off this post, but the joke’s been done to death. Unfortunately, there is a lot of truth in the quip. Those of us who procrastination problems tend to put off virtually everything that isn’t entertaining or essential for survival.

Here are links to 10 articles that address dealing with procrastination. There’s overlap in the content, but if you’re like me, you need all the reinforcement you can get.

Well, what an enlightening post. I never thought of the causes of procrastination until I came acrosshttp://www.stop-procrastination.org. Might wanna check it out.

I’ve found what really works for me in overcoming procrastination is to create some non-negotiable rules for yourself. These are absolutes.

“Every day I will jog for thirty minutes no matter what.”
“I will not drink alcohol for the next eight weeks.”
“I will never talk that way to that person again.”

Share these commitments with your coach/partner and select others. Remember… if nothing changes (attitudes, decisions, behaviours), nothing changes (reality).
So commit to real change with some ‘you’ rules.
