Free Canadian Personal Income Tax Software
If there’s one area of life that can get messier than my desk, it’s my finances. (Don’t worry dear, everything is under control.) The best software investments I have made are those for finance programs. The benefit of electronic banking and up-to-date information cannot be overstated. If I didn’t have those tools… well, my wife would be keeping us solvent. 
For income tax preparation and filing, we currently use Quick Tax, a reasonably priced software package. If you want something less expensive, as in free, check out StudioTax.
StudioTax is a windows based bilingual personal Income Tax preparation software made by Canadians for Canadians. This software is made available for Canadian Taxpayers for personal use only.
StudioTax is distributed using a flexible licensing model. No license key or registration is required to download, install and use StudioTax. After you use StudioTax and you find it useful, we ask that you take the time to make a modest monetary contribution toward the support of this product.
StudioTax doesn’t yet support Netfile, but they are getting the software certified with the Canada Revenue Agency.

The creator was on the radio in Ottawa a few days ago. He said he started doing it as a small hobby … he ended up getting it certified a couple years ago… and voila.
I have used it for a couple years… its a good program imo
StudioTax requires a lot of setup and stuff, I don’t want to install additional stuff to run it. I use AceTax, and love it, it’s a fast and accurate tax filing software. It’s available at an amazing price of just $6.99

StudioTax’07 and would certainly recommend it to individuals.
StudioTax requires a lot of setup and stuff, I don’t want to install additional stuff to run it. I use AceTax, and love it, it’s a fast and accurate tax filing software.
I prefer web application. I don’t need too much functions. Studio Tax is a good software, It’s quick and easy to use. In web application I prefer MBOTax. It has the same user interface with ST.
