Freeware of the Week - OpenOffice.org
If you are looking for an alternative to “office” software products from Microsoft or Corel, etc., take a look at OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org (OOo) is an open-source (free) office software suite that runs on all major software platforms.
OpenOffice has six components:
- Word processing – Writer
- Spreadsheet – Calc
- Presentation – Impress
- Database – Base
- Equation editor – Math
- Drawing tools – Draw
In addition to the software platforms support by OOo, OpenOffice.org is compatible with the file formats from all other major software suites. E.g., Microsoft Office, Wordperfect, etc.
